Transportation Bonanza
JOIN PROFESSIONALS from planning, transportation, engineering, health and allied fields for a day of training and connection focusing on active transportation and Safe Routes to School. Transportation Bonanza 16, being held virtually on February 12 and 13 will have an emphasis on community building for health and accessibility. This event is brought to you by the Michigan Association of Planning, in partnership with Michigan Safe Routes to School, the Michigan Department of Transportation, and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

Keynote Presenters Include:
Wes Marshall, author of Killed by a Traffic Engineer. Marshall will dive into his research and explain how to fix the carnage happening on our roadways. He argues change is plausible if we take seriously just how disconnected safety is from the ways we design our streets for those both inside and outside of cars.
Jason Jordan from the American Planning Association will speak about what to expect on Capitol Hill regarding upcoming transportation policies and politics and implication for good transportation planning and mobility in Michigan.
Nina Idemudia, CEO of the Center for Neighborhood Technology, will weave a compelling narrative about how environmental challenges and community disinvestment disproportationately affect marginalized communities and why it is crucial to integrate equitable policies and sustainable practices.
