2025 Sustainable Agriculture, Food Systems, and Rural Environments Plan

Livingston County

The plan marks a significant achievement as the first comprehensive strategy in the county dedicated exclusively to sustainable agriculture and food systems. By outlining a way in which the county can achieve farmland preservation goals, support for local farmers, improved environmental stewardship, and higher rates of food security, this initiative places the county in an optimal position to be sustainable and self-sufficient in numerous aspects of food production and consumption. The plan was produced entirely in-house by the Livingston County Planning Department with assistance from the Livingston County Information Technology - GIS Department. Congratulations to Livingston County and their student intern Abby Carrigan!
